Welcome to Melwel Lodge

bigbasswood lakeSince 1945, three generations of families have traveled from across the United States and Canada to enjoy the unmatched beauty and hospitality of Melwel Bay.

Melwel is located in the picturesque Algoma region, an area steeped in history and stunning beauty.  Melwel Bay offers a jewel-like setting for the lodge: magnificent rock formations reflect across crystal clear waters, surrounded by untouched forest.  Here you will find some of the best boating, fishing and recreation in Northern Ontario.  Whatever your vacation intention, be it to read, paint, hike, swim, boat, fish, sleep, write… Melwel Lodge is the place that says yes to all of the above.  It is a perfect place for families to reunite and relax – the kids will love it.

One, two, three & four bedroom cottage rentals are situated along 3,000 feet of shoreline in a private, pristine, west-facing bay.  You can choose a sunny beachfront cabin, or opt for the tranquil privacy of a cottage nestled along the forested shore.  All cabins have BBQs and some cabins are equipped with kitchens.  Melwel Lodge is perfect for Corporate Events and family gatherings. 

While Melwel Lodge is a Housekeeping Resort,  we do offer meal plans on a prearranged basis.
